ecurb91 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Hello everyone, I have installed the Small Basic software package and I am having trouble with it because students can not run the .exe files they are creating through it. Is anyone aware of a solution for student users with restricted permissions to be able to run their Small Basic .exe's on a RM CC3 system. Thanks Bruce
andyturpie Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Hi there if you log into CC3 with your systemadmin account. In the left hand pane expand configuration settings and open software configuration settings and within there set a file rule for the said .exe file. - sorted.
X-13 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Hi there if you log into CC3 with your systemadmin account. In the left hand pane expand configuration settings and open software configuration settings and within there set a file rule for the said .exe file. - sorted. You'd have to literally add every single exe they make. @ecurb91 You're going to have to set an exception to the file restriction policy, not for files, but certain areas. Make sure the .exe files are saved there and they should run fine. But, you're going to have to keep an eye on what is saved there. Anyone could drop in a game[or worse] and run it. 1
andyturpie Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Thanks for reminding me X-13, and your correct CC3 lacks the granular control is more an all or nothing option from what I can see. Alternatively you could create it as a virtual app to run of a USB using Cameyo?
