Hi all,

I'm being a bit lazy by posting this but it may save us all some time in the long run.

Has anyone got any 'how to guides' aimed at the average teacher they could share? Things such as how to orient the IWB or clear simple paper jams or how to log on to a computer etc etc....basic stuff that will help when there is no technician around.

I've got to knock a guide together for a few primary schools and like I said I'm just being lazy but I reckon it may help other people too. :)

Cheers!

Hi which version of IWB?

Here is a 30 second video for a Smart Board:

While this is a video for a Promethean IWB:

Clearing a printer jam:

Again perhaps more detail is required as the method may vary with the printer. However there is a general guide here:

Link: How to Clear a Printer Paper Jam | eHow.com

Searching this site may yield dividends for you.

However I am sure others here would say: "Google is your friend"

Yeah I just send links to youtube now for staff who seem to do things completely stupidly. Or be cheeky and download a trial of captivate - they are more likely to watch videos IMHO then read a piece of paper.

The smart is wrong though - as per Smarts instructions you should put the pen on, draw to the centre of the cross and then release.

We have Promethean. There is also a difference from the shown video there. However I considered that the video was OK to post because our boards are now quite old [we calibrate our boards differently]

I really just wanted to say that you can usually use Google to find an answer provided that you apply the answers you find with a degree of caution.
