Hotmail

Having a few issues on a few PC's here, where as when a user logs into their hotmail account nothing appears on the screen but says done in the bottom left hand corner.

 

We are on XP. Doesn't matter who logs in, even with admin rights it doesn't work. Hotmail isn't blocked.

 

Any idea's?

I've had that at home a few times. Refreshing usually fixes it.

 

I think when it gets to that point it redirects to the inbox/welcom page, but something blocks it.

Yeah, just a blank screen. It works fine on 95% of our PCs just the odd few.

 

A refresh doesn't work.

reinstall IE/FF/Chrome?

I suppose I could try that, we are using IE7 still. (Don't ask, there are reasons behind it).

 

I have also tried deleting cookies etc.

We're using IE7 aswell.

It's a random thing that happens here too. I've set a link on our Intranet's home page to

https://login.live.com/

which seems to get around the issue quite well, so I don't know if adding a bookmark or something would help with the issue for you?

Yea, logins are handled by live.com so if that is blocked or if it looses a redirect somewhere it will choke.

The same happens to me when I work with Fire Fox, and everything is ever fine with Google Chrome... switch to another browser or update your current one.

Or use the generic 'fix' I mentioned above - visiting

https://login.live.com/

which is most likely a LOT easier than deploying and training for a new browser for users ..
