[sims] Duplicate UPN error

This is the scenario:a pupil is admitted to the school in September but never attends because he moves with his dad to another town. He's taken off roll. Today, having decided that he'd rather live with his mum, he returns to our school, whereupon we receive the CTF file from the previous school, which appears to import correctly. However, his dad is listed as the primary contact. In trying to delete the father's contact details (indeed trying to make any alteration to the data) SIMS won't let the file save and reports "The UPN entered is duplicate".

How can I clear this error?

Capita has a duplicate UPN finder tool that should help you out with this issue.

TBH it sounds like he wasn't removed properly in the first place - but yes contact your support team who should be able to fix pretty easily (although requires everybody out of sims)

You just need to run the Re-allocate UPN tool. You probably already have it in the Setups folder (I think it's in that one anyway!). Support will give you an up-to-date copy if not! Edited January 9, 2012 by Sivadam
