RFXGeorge Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Built the WINPE disk following microsofts step by step guide but whenever i put it in the reference pc it comes up with failed to boot windows, try inserting installation disk, etc, etc.. anyone know how to get it running?
pcunite Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Make sure that you're using a source disk that matches the hardware ... x64 or x32bit. Also you generally need 512 RAM for these type things. Also have you taken a look at the Win7PE_SE project? It is a version of Windows 7 that boots and you can really customize it.
slugshead Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 ......map network drive ......use z:\ \\servername\sharepath ......get ready for imaging diskpart select disk 0 select partition 2 format fs=ntfs label="OS" quick assign c active exit ......image time d:\ imagex /apply z:\imagename.wim "imagename" c:\ ......reboot after complete ......boot to win PE bcdboot c:\windows ......reboot and setup windows
Guest TheLibrarian Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Try Kape, it's not free but it is cheap and it takes all of the pain out of creating WinPE disks / pens.
somebloke Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 How did you build the WinPE disk, was it through MDT?
