andyturpie Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Hi there, Just wondering if there is a freeware USB or CD boot tool that can wipe the encryption bootloader from a hard drive (presumably hidden on track 0/MBR). DBAN works buit however, it takes hours as the whole drive needs treated, I am in the process of handing out new laptops to teachers buit quickly want to bare image the old ones and re sell. As the data is encrypted there is no need to bleach the drive, but I need to only remove the nagging boot password option if possible! Any ideas?
Arthur Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 You could try the "Erase Boot Sector" option in Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test. The easiest way to get this program is probably via UBCD. http://i.imgur.com/vOQD3.jpg 1
