Core2Duo E6300 (£30 less for the E4300)

1Gb RAM (Dual Channel DDR2-5400)

80Gb HD (not expensive to go 160/250Gb)

DVD+-RW / RAM

Integrated Intel 950 GFX

19 inch widescreen TFT (BenQ)

Vista Premium (Not much more expensive for XP MCE)

Black mATX case

 

All for about £460 inc VAT (about £10 shipping on top)

Yeah, I actually built it for a girl I work with in my supermarket job (I'm part time IT) and the original had freeview, the ram was CL4 low latency, some logitech 2.1 speakers, wireless KB/Mouse so it was pretty featured and is still bloody quick.

 

With a bit of creativity, a Core2Duo can be made up for not much more than £400. (All prices INC VAT too)

 

I've built up a fair few PC's for friends and work colleagues now.
