Legality of using book cover images on schools website

We are having a push on reading books in our school what are the legality of using images of the book covers do we have to get permission from the publisher or are we covered by some other licence

IANAL, but I'm pretty sure you do need permission from the copyright holder for that. You may find that publishers are quite accommodating for schools, however.
