News of his death may be [hopefully is] premature:

The Red Arrows pilot seriously injured in an accident at RAF Scampton allegedly ejected from his jet while on the ground, with the parachute failing to deploy. That’s according to local media. The BBC, meanwhile, has reported that a Red Arrow jet was later spotted with a badly damaged canopy.

The pilot was rushed to hospital with injuries described as serious. No further information about his condition has been released so far. There are rumours floating around on Twitter that the pilot has died, but these rumours can’t be confirmed and are quite probably the usual morbid death rumours that spread easiliy via social networking.
