Mapping a network drive (NAS) - hiding finder window

This is a pain, but I've mapped a NAS share to my MBP and set it up so it keeps the connection even after a restart. Yet the damn finder window keeps opening. I've set the Hide flag in the 'Users and Groups' > 'Login Items' - yet it still shows up.

Surely it cannot be that hard.

is the finder window open last thing before restart or logoff? if your using lion i know it gives the option to re-open windows as they were pre-logoff

I think I had the same problem where it opens by default on mapping, It was a machine that was hardly ever rebooted so I never found a way around it.

Hi amfony,

Yes we tried that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Evening Synack,

Yeah this is what's happening. By default it is opening when it maps each time we turn the machine on. PITA. I'll keep searching - my next port of call is the official Apple forums.
