East Riding - Any techs within the area?

I've just taken on a school in East Riding and whilst I'm up to speed on the North Yorks suppliers, contacts, etc.. I'm not sure about a few key things in this area so if you could help with the following it'd be appreciated.

 

1. Are there any deals or required software packages for things like anti-virus that we can take advantage of? (North yorks had a sophos deal but no idea if something similar exists here)

 

2. Overall tech support for the net, etc.. ? I've been told that there is a school support service but they tend not to respond straight away so does anyone have any tips on who to speak to, how to get hold of them and what to do to get a response or even a real human being in the know?

 

3. Anything else you can think to warn a new tech in the area?

Nobody? Blimey... well think I'll bump this and pray... Their IT department is looking a bit like a certain other one with a weeks delay and no response to a ticket... *sigh*
