irsprint84 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 New single player video just out: Battlefield 3 - Launch Trailer Video - PC - IGN
Arthur Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 wonder what it will look like on the consoles as I take it the above footage is from a PC. BF3 is going to look like **** on the Xbox 360 if you don't have a HDD. Even then it's not going to look good due to the archaic hardware. www.hardocp.com/news/2011/10/20/bf3_on_360_standard_def_without_hdd_install
ihaveaproblem Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 On asda it now says pre-order is £27.97 yet when I click the link I get an asda error
Arthur Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 I want this to go with my BF3 simulator. http://i.imgur.com/dcsSE.jpg
ihaveaproblem Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 We should make some edugeek team combos. I mean hrli pilot/gunner, tank driver/gunner and stuff:)
CAM Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 More cheap BF3 here Battlefield 3 [Limited Edition] | First Person | ASDA direct As posted on my Twitter feed. Interestingly, ASDA are selling the PC version cheaper then the console counterparts.
sonofsanta Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 More cheap BF3 here Battlefield 3 [Limited Edition] | First Person | ASDA direct As posted on my Twitter feed. Interestingly, ASDA are selling the PC version cheaper then the console counterparts. PC Editions are usually cheaper (e.g. Batman) because there's no licensing guff to pay to MS/Sony
Butters Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 I purchased it from Origin, already preloaded it so no waiting around for a Postman on Friday. Can't trust my local postie so better not leaving it to chance or having to collect from in-store.
Arthur Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 More cheap BF3 here If I was going to buy a boxed copy of the Limited Edition, I would get the Physical Warfare Pack Limited Edition from Game. This is slightly different from Specact Kit Limited Edition sold by Amazon. Isn't it nice when you have multiple limited editions? Interestingly, ASDA are selling the PC version cheaper then the console counterparts. Almost every game is cheaper on the PC for the reason sonofsanta mentioned. This is why I don't own a console.
Butuz Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Holy carp. I think this may be the game that drags me kicking and screaming back into PC gaming. Ive been out of PC Gaming for years and have been very happy with my Xbox 360. The amount I've saved on motherboards procesors and graphics cards has literally allowed me to buy a car Problem is, 64 player and even better graphics thant he xbox is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tempting me :-) oh and an Edugeek platoon of course. Dos_Box Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Wow, great vid I wonder what spec of machines they ran that all off? Running 6 HD projectors requires some serious 'oompf' graphics wise.

Being a "gadget" show, I would have thought they might mention the computer specs, but sadly they didn't. Three Radeon HD 6990s', 32GB RAM and an Intel Core i7-2700K @ 5GHz perhaps?
plexer Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 FPS games make me feel sick maybe if I was moving around at the same time it would be ok. I have to say the whole setup they came up with was awesome and I can see the same type of setup used by the military in the future if they're not allready doing it. Imagine a bigger version where you had multiple players in there at the same time. The only thing I thought could have been done better was the paintball gun turrets having them poke through some holes or something in the screen on just being mounted in the ceiling would have been better imho. Arthur Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) nVidia has posted some great "behind the scenes" videos on YouTube today by DICE discussing the graphics of BF3. Very interesting if you like that kind of thing. Edited October 25, 2011 by Arthur
CAM Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 We have had a very bad experience with ASDA. In short, don't bother with them! The item came back into stock on the website my brother ordered two copies of the game coming to about £55. I pointed a friend to the link who ordered a copy, so it definitely wasn't a browser caching issue! On Friday morning, he sends me a message that he is rather annoyed by ASDA as they cancelled his order due to having insufficient stock. I tell my brother and, lo and behold, order cancelled this end. To add insult, they will refund us in 7-10 days time! Never again!
featured_spectre Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Yeh I wouldn't order online from a store..I had a sardine and tomato paste (which my daughter loves having on toast) substituted with crab paste (despite making a note that my daughter is allergic to shellfish)...not a good one, as such never ordered online from a store again. As for BF3...Loving it, I am on the 3rd mission, and ranking up on Multiplayer nicely as well Great game!
