Those were the days! I remember the excitement when Argos opened in Harrogate. Great year 1976: fabulous summer, first summer in secondary school... * hobbles off with zimmer frame *

I like. A whole 2 pages of watches, the current Argos catalogue has about 25+!

I love the toys, I used to have the Airfix pontoon bridge set and the Vertibird helicopter, which was one of my most favorite childhood toys :)

My God! Have you seen the price of the car radio cassette players? Cosidering this was the mid-70's their most expensive player was £72.95, which in todays money (using this rather wonderful site here: Measuring Worth - Measures of worth, inflation rates, saving calculator, relative value, worth of a dollar, worth of a pound, purchasing power, gold prices, GDP, history of wages, average wage) works out at anywhere between £403 and £829 depending on method used. Not cheap that in car audio gear.

Bet it was more reliable too though.. and think of the hours of fun detanlging your casette tapes as well :D
