Looking for a solution to digital signage,

 

Whats the best and cheapest way to go (even better free )

 

Looking at all these wonderful little boxes that are all singing and dancing for about 2k, but none of them make me jump up and down,

 

Need somthing to display latest news and somthing about the school and power point up coming events.

Just found a new open source digital signage system though.

 

At the moment the sit is down but if you google for spectakle you can read a cache copy of it.

I did it my self, brought a 42" tele appropriate bracket drilled a BIG hole through the wall and have a networked PC the other side, from there i can run DVDs (its in MFL block and they like having crap films on in french and german. There was some cool RSS programs i have seen but i have the link at home if you would like me to search this out PM me
