blackbean Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 hi has anyone come across an issue with anycomms failing to send files across. im getting the following message unable to locate an outbox on your machine! The software has checked for SIMS in the following folders: F:\APPS\SIMS, S:\SIMS, F:\SIMS, E:\SIMS, D:\SIMS, C:\SIMS and X:\SIMS without any success. Please check your configuration and try again. Please close this window. permissions seem fine, quotas seems fine, file structure seems fine. not sure what else to check.
Edu-IT Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Where is your SIMS located? Is it on any of those drives?
matt40k Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 That's a check your LA (or whoever your sending to) has setup, you'll need to contact them. As it's specific to them - like Suffolk you need avco.ini.
blackbean Posted October 6, 2011 Author Posted October 6, 2011 Yeah, SIMS is on drive, I can browse to the outbox and all the drives are mapped. LA have been next to useless. They are blaming it on network.
plexer Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Is this running on xp or win7? If win7 have you used run as administrator? Ben
blackbean Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 XP. This worked before the LA did an 'upgrade' in the summer.
matt40k Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I would image they look for a file in your SIMS drive - which could be F:\APPS\SIMS, S:\SIMS, F:\SIMS, E:\SIMS, D:\SIMS, C:\SIMS and X:\SIMS What file, I have no idea, but I would have hoped your LA would be able to tell you.
vikpaw Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I'm with Ben, it's possible the mapped drive is not accessible if it's on Win7 due to who it was mapped by.
blackbean Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Running on XP. Going to have a crack at it this morning.
Edu-IT Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Have you spoken with any other local schools to see if they're having problems?
blackbean Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 It's intermittent with other schools but.. I got it working in the sense that it transfers files over, which in essence is all is needs to do. Still get the annoying message about it not finding the inbox when it finishes transferring but i'm putting that down to a incorrect config setting. Thanks for all your help.
