Hi I have no experience with stone machines, but I have only come across 3 makes of PC sold which had a onboard recovery for an XP OS (HP,Packard Bell and Advent). Every other models came with recovery disks/restore disks, but that all changed when Vista reared its ugly head.

If they originally came with Win7, then the recovery section of the HDD more than likely got wiped out with the XP install. If a recovery still exists, then try making that partition active and reboot with your fingers crossed and lucky underwear on, but that would take you back to Win 7 :)

Now found a Stone Windows 7 DVD + drives so hope it now works :)

Cheers for the advice. Just thought it there was a shortcut key to start the restore.
