jayemm Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 We are having a strange problem with one of our Server 2008 R2 servers. It just so happens that this server is also our SIMS server. Intermittently some machines are unable to ping this server, they can map drives on the server but not ping. The only fix is to restart the server. Has anyone had this issue? Or have any suggestions. Azhibberd Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Not Personally had this issue, Sure its not something weird with a firewall blocking the ping? Try turning off the firewall on the client and server see if you get the problem then?
jayemm Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Tried with firewall off and on at server and client and doesnt change anything. It is strange because it appears to happen intermittently and can only be fixed by a reboot of server, it doesnt affect all clients just some of them.
