ellisteph10 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Hi, We seem to have a problem with students losing work or versions of files that theyve worked on, saved, come back to and its an old version. This happened since moving to a Windows 7 / 2008 network. Im putting this down to offline files being enabled. Ive disabled all GPOs to disable offline files but network shares (user areas) still come up with 'Available Offline' and Sync Center running. Anyone know how to get it all turned off?
tommej Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 If the computer still has availible offline files make sure you sync first and then add the following reg key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC Create a 32bit dword called "FormatDatabase" with the value 1. Reboot. (may take a while depending on how big your offline files cache is) (this will delete all offline files including non-synced stuff.)
TerryBloomU Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 i have mine set Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Network/Offline Files -> Allow or Disallow use of the Offline Files feature to Disabled Remove 'Make Available Offline' to Enabled I have other settings in there too, but they are all tagged for XP and 2000.
