Hi HAP is great - installed 6.5 a few weeks ago and was very impressed. I was anticipating v7 and downloaded 7.2 the other day and went throught the printed instructions and video.

running setup.aspx I was flummoxed by this..

hap1.png

when I typein the domain upn "riccarton.school.nz" and the admin password a box pops up saying not found. also the blue progess bar accross the top only moves about an inch.

if I go to the students OU field an in complete ad selector window pops up

have tried restarting IIS and the server. and reworking throught the instructions, runiing iis6 on server 2003.

if I go to the hap home page I get what I expect ie the user drive works and my username and change password etc.

Help

From the bottom of the world

Thanks Nic

spent ages reinstalling thsi several times and checking all of the settings. Was logged on as domain admin and changes weren't kept in IIS, logging on as local admin meant changes were saved in IIS and 7.5 finally worked, great!!!

A couple of things can I change the booking system to accommodate four terms as thats what we have down here in New Zealand. also is it possible to go back to Basic authentication in 7.5 as when our users log on remotely they authenticate against our MS threat Managementt Gateway server and under 6.5 they simply logged on to TMG and did not have to separately log into HAP.

Thanks again

I cant answer the other questions but as for TMG what we have done is disable the built-in authentication that TMG uses, the listener still uses HTTPS as the HAP site has to be secure. As such all comms with AD are encrypted so basically all we use TMG for is to publish the webserver.

Hope this helps

Unfortunately you can't use Basic Authentication anymore, it's down to how HAP+ impersonates the user, a token is created that is needed to make things work properly, which means when you log in, I need access to the password (which basic doesn't pass down to asp.net)
