Techdw Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Hi Guys, I want to install Sims to around 300 PC's, instead of doing this one by one what is the easiest was of deploying this? All of them at the same time. During the setup it does as a few questions so would need to be like a unattended install. Thanks
arthur231283 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Have you got an RM or vanilla network?

Thanks Solus 3 will do this for you, it's the deployment/update software for SIMS, have a look on SupportNet.

vikpaw Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 You should look into SOLUS 3 on Capita's SupportNet website. That's their approved method, albeit a tad glitchy for some. Failing that, people put it on images, send it via msi / group policy, run it with startup scripts, package it under RM (?). EDIT: Or what they said ^ - took too long to hit Send!
matt40k Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I would go SOLUS3, will make upgrading them in the future easier, assuming it single domain\network. Let Capita work out the bugs deploying SIMS rather then waste your time trying to re-invent the wheel. The scheduling releases in advance alone is worth it, basically schedule it for 2 weeks before you want to do it, it'll then download it to the clients before hand but not apply until the scheduled date, assume you don't withdraw it. OK you could do it in SMS (whatever) as two packages (one download, one install) but alot of hassle and I would rather Capita does it, it's part of what you pay them for. Sure everyone's got better things to do then installing\repacking SIMS.
