Problems with home email

Don't know where best to put this so please feel free to move it!

 

I have used Outlook to get my emails from nltworld and now sky for ever and have never had a problem - until now. It has became obvious that my system is leaving some of my emails on the server, NOT downloading them to the machine and I cannot work out why. Some are webmail but not all.

So...I installed a different mail client - Thunderbird - and the same thing is happening. (NB:Both clients are set to delete things off the server once downloaded, but they don't - which may or may not be related to the issue)

Today I have found 2 messages on the server that thunderbird did not pull down - neither of which were hotmail or the like.

Can anyone help? I dont want to go to the web to get my emails,I was quite happy with Outlook until about 2 weeks ago when I installed Win 7 on my machine.

Sorry, maybe I didnt explain myself properly....none of those are relevant because whilst messages are being left on the server, that isnt the main issue, I just wondered if it was related to my problem

The main issue is that not ALL my emails are being delivered to either Outlook or Thunderbird - both seem to randomly miss the odd email - but it is the same ones in each case.

I can't believe someone can't help me - I have searched everywhere and can only find solutions to not being able to download any emails. But I get MOST of them, just not all.

It has got worse - now some emails arent even getting to the sky.com interface.

Hasnt anyone had any issues like this?
