How to install the Office 2010 Group Policy Templates?

Can anyone help me out with this please.

I want to use the templates from here Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - Office 2010 Administrative Templates and OCT to set up some policys for MS Office. I've had a search around the internet and only confused myself more. I'm a bit unsure as to where all the files that get extracted need to go to? There's so many..

Also there is a 32 and 64bit version. Do I use the 32 bit version since thats what the clients use? Or do I need 64bit since thats the server.

You literally just copy/paste them into: C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions

 

If you're using 32Bit Office 2010 (what Microsoft recommend), then you only need the 32Bit files.

Use the 32 bit as that's the target version.

I copied and pasted the extracted files to C:\windows\PolicyDefinitions and I still cant seem the find the new options. Is there anything else I need to do?

You only need to copy-and-paste the contents of the ADMX folder i.e.

That's right, copy/paste the files directly into the root of C:\Windows\PolicyDefinitions

 

You then tweak all policies as normal. It's a lot quicker than importing all the GPOs as with 2003
