VGA to RF

Bit cheeky as its for home rather than work!! But....

 

Is there any way of being able to plug a PC into a standard RF home system? I would like to be able to watch what my media PC in the living room is playing in other parts of the house. The PC has VGA out and also a S-Video/composite out.

 

Am obviously not bothered about HD or anything like that.

You can't pipe it back up the arial cable in general for home wireing. You could use a wireless video sender from the AV port but you will get hugely better results just getting one of those little network media player boxes and either running network to it (preffered) or pipeing it over wireless.

What you need is either a standalone RF modulator (e.g. Universal Scart To Coax Video Modulator: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics) to convert you composite signal to RF (or like me, just use an old VCR if you don't mind the bulk and still have Star Wars on VHS )

 

If you've got a SKY box as well, you can use a simple RF splitter as a combiner and feed your media centre output down the same cable as well.

 

I've got 3 RF signals on my house distribution system - Living Room SKY output, playroom SKY box output (We've got SKY multiroom) and my VCR fed off my computer feeding all the bedrooms.

 

You might need a aerial booster as well if your signal is too noisy at the end of the bable run
