HMCTech Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 When we restart our Domain Controller that Exchange talks to exchange obviously cannot load anyones mailbox or OWA. Does anyone know if you can add a backup DC to the Exchange information so that it will failover and if so where is that information stored / added?
ZeroHour Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 What version of DC are you running? Is your global catalogue replicated as I thought if that was on each DC exchange would not die.
sukh Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 1. If you have left Exch to use autoconfig for DC/GC discovery then it should discover the DC/GC in the site. 2. If you have excluded or configured static DC/GC then this may be a possible cause. 3. Make sure the 2nd DC is also a GC ALSO in the same AD site as Exch
