Dos_Box Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 What I need (due to my total bafflement at all things samba) is a config script, or directions to an EASY-TO-UNDERSTAND-HOW-TO-CONFIGURE-SAMBA site. Any help.
Ric_ Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 @Dos_Box: http://www.samba.org has some good HOWTOs
Geoff Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Some indication of what your trying make samba do would be helpful. NT4 PDC, file server, print server, join a AD domain, etc?
Dos_Box Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 File server, dual homed to ICT.yourdomain.ac.uk and training.ict.yourdomain.ac.uk with mulitple shares.

Dos_Box Posted October 19, 2005 Author Posted October 19, 2005 Without authentification, and on Fedora Core 4
Geoff Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 Ok then. The default Fedora smb.conf should be sufficent for most things. Just make sure you have the share level access level set and you don't have any interfaces setting. Also make sure you make your shares public and guest ok.
