Mutiple Dropboxes on Server

I use a 50G Dropbox account to sync all my tech files(Scripts/downloads/WPKG installs etc) across all my primary school servers.

 

At one of my schools, individual tech compentant teachers run their own dropboxes on their laptops/class PCs but in another school I'd like to setup just one account for all the teachers to use with the dropbox folder on the server and share it out to the class/staff room teacher machines.

 

Problem being of basic dropbox on a machine (Server in my case) only works with one account.

 

My first idea is to create a simple VM but I could do with a less resource hungry solutioni.

 

Any ideas/anyone doing this sort of thing?

Isn't this just a convoluted way of having a simple fileshare with laptops using offline files to synchronise with it?

To run second dropbox you need to run the exe as another user using runas command. Then it will use dropbox in that users context.

Isn't this just a convoluted way of having a simple fileshare with laptops using offline files to synchronise with it?

To do that, they'd have to bring their laptops in and switch them on and wait for the sync whereas with dropbox type syncing to a server, as long as they leave their laptops on at home long enough to sync to the cloud then the files will be there when they get to school

 

But I'm game for any method that minimises the effort the teacher have to do

Good news and not so good news

 

The 2nd dropbox account on the server setup seems to work OK

 

But I'd forgotton about the problem with Dropbox not auto-detecting proxy server settings

PS Bulb goes off in head - if I had a script that did a lan sync that I could run in the teachers all users startup ...
