Hi,

we currently have a mixture of physical and virtual DCs in school. At the moment we have a wireless link to a local primary school who utilise our network and all machines are part of our domain. At the primary school, we use a HV server that virtualises a RODC server with cached users for the primary school.

Our issue stands with the group policies that apply to the workstations at the primary school. Although they connect to our FRDC for DHCP, we would like them to receive group policies from the local RODC instead of coming over the wireless link. How can i force the workstations to point to a local server?

I could create a separate site in AD but would this require a new domain?

You would only need to put them on a separate subnet to define a client as belonging to Particular site and define the site and add the rodc to the site.
