Trapper Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Hi Folks, I'm having problems with the built in IM on Live@Edu OWA. It works fine, but just for me. Hence the little green icon is on under my name, and I can choose my status. For any other member of staff it's all greyed out. HOWEVER the presence for them in an email lists them as online. If I try and chat using OWA they don't get the message. If however I try and chat using Live Messenger to Live Messenger it works. Sadly rolling out Live Messenger won't work as it's blocked at school (tested at home). I did read that users have to accept the AUP and enter their age when logging on first. I fiddled the options so staff didn't have to do this - politics folks were complaining about the mandatory age field. However if I get staff to go to their Live account page and enter their DoB there it still doesn't work. Any ideas?
eddyc Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I have a feeling that if you do not provide the age and DoB when setting the accounts up, it permenantly disables some features. If you go to a normal live account I know that is the case.
Trapper Posted July 21, 2011 Author Posted July 21, 2011 Ok. Not a major problem. Only the SLT want it, and I can re-create them a new account. Anyway ticket open with MS. I'm sure there's something they can do at their end to sort this.
