tech_guy Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Anyone else having problems with these PCs? Doesn't seem to matter how we push the Windows XP SP3 Sysprepped image on - Ghost, DriveImage XML, etc - the drive becomes non-bootable after the image goes on. Doing my head in now.
SHimmer45 Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 whats the error when it boots? does it just blue screen etc. hard drive mode set wrong in the bios (so the image was made on a laptop which had the SATA mode set to IDE, but the others are in AHCI mode?) partition not set to active?
tech_guy Posted July 21, 2011 Author Posted July 21, 2011 No BS - PC just can't find primary and goes off wibbling looking for a PXE Boot option. HDD was NTFS formatted and set to primary. Image created on same type of PC as it's going on. No option in BIOS to toggle between IDE & AHCI - fixed as IDE in BIOS.

I saw this sort of thing on Stone MR052 laptops; for what it's worth they would boot if there was a WXP CD in the drive and the press any key to boot from CD was left to time out. I never did get to the bottom of the issue; I think a later version of Ghost sorted the issue. I can't remember with any accuracy - sorry.
