burgemaster Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 A Common problem we have here: Teacher sends a class of students a DOCX file to work on via email..... The students go into their email and open the file and begin working on it..... The end of the lesson they hit save.... Next week... Document has been lost as it was saved to the temp folder. Does anyone know if it is possible for the temp attachment opening location can be moved to thier home drive? I know the teachers just have to say "Right open it then Save As.." but they dont. Been looking at OutlookSecureTempFolder in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security Anyone already sorted this before I carry on?
Steve21 Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Isn't it HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders ? And you set that to the folder, Steve
SkreeM1980 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 We have this problem all the time with students chosing Open from files thay have emailed themselves, usually it is from Webmail though as we don't allow them to use outlook. I would love a solution to prevent the open option on downloads in IE to make them save to MyDocs Skr
