Brucy Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 The best i've had recently was book ordered from Play which was delivered HDN and the put it under the fence with the dog! On the card they put: "Safe under gate with dog" - i don't think any package is safe with a dog???

LosOjos Posted July 11, 2011 Author Posted July 11, 2011 This is just getting worse They are now telling me my parcel number isn't long enough so I must be telling them the wrong one (it is printed on my card!!!), and the website appears to change every time I look at the damn thing! Depending which part of the site I type my number in to I get a different result! Oh, and I tried to check the address of the depot but it's nowhere to be found on their website! I've found an address via Google and checked via street view, it appears to be the DHL depot so let's hope they have my parcel! Going down there tonight. I had arranged to collect it from there tonight but as they're denying my parcel number as being legitimate I don't think I'm going to have much bloody luck!
LosOjos Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 Finally got my package last night, but what a joke it was! I filled in the forms online on Sunday to be able to collect the package from the depot last night. Got to the depot to be told that my parcel had been delivered and that I had signed for it! The guy at the depot even printed the job history out for me clearly showing that I requested it for collection and that they went ahead and delivered it anyway, along with some random scribble of a signature with my name attached to it (obviously not my signature!). Got home to find the parcel sat on my front door step for all and sundry to walk past and see sitting there! My guess is that the driver couldn't be arsed to take it back to the depot so he just dumped it on my door step and signed it off himself! Needless to say, I will be filing a complaint (although my original email to them to ask why they failed the delivery I arranged for Friday still hasn't been answered). A quick Google shows that of around 250 reviews, 99.9% of them have given the company just 1 star (the minimum possible on Google). This company should be shut down, surely there is an ombudsman of some kind?
PaulRidley Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I hope you don't mind me logging into your forum to post this, but I am visiting all the pages I can find about Yodel / Home Delivery Network being useless... Well I cant complain about my delivery as it was received, howver the van driver smashing my gates and digging up my garden was disgusting. Thank goodness for CCTV! Of course Yodel are not bothered, so I have posted my footage on YouTube... youtube.com/watch?v=DpWpzIsvdmg ...enjoy and spread the word. Paul 1
plexer Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Awesome do you have pictures of the gate damage? Ben
PaulRidley Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Oh yes, and the nice big trench dug by the van... Paul
LosOjos Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 I'd like to see companies completely boycott this bunch of jokers, typing their name in to Google is all the research you need, over 200 reviews and not ONE positive! (well I found one, but it was by an employ so is null and void in my opinion). Since my ordeal (albeit not as bad as yours @PaulRidley) I make a point of checking which company is being used as a courier before I order anything and ordering elsewhere if it's one of these lot!
PaulRidley Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 It's the first time that an Amazon package hasn't come here by Royal Mail and hopefully the last. Please feel free to post the YouTube link as Yodel are not responding to my emails. Paul
PaulRidley Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Just a little update - 140 views of my little film in 24 hours? Speaks volumes! Yodel Home Delivery Network White Van Man 2011 - YouTube Paul
PaulRidley Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Another update - Yodel have seen my little film and are coming round to visit. Ahhh, the power of the internet!
LosOjos Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 Another update - Yodel have seen my little film and are coming round to visit. Ahhh, the power of the internet! Don't forget to leave your gates open 1
garoc Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 More Yodel woes!! http://www.edugeek.net/forums/behind-red-door/84140-yodel-delivery-amazon.html
tech_guy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Don't get me started on Yodel. I used to think the Home Delivery Network were a bunch of brain-dead idiots, but to work for Yodel I think you must have knuckles scraping the ground and the intelligence of a clam. Three times now they have either lobbed the parcel over our locked back gate or simply left it propped up at the front of the house for all to see. Idiots.
LosOjos Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 Gaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!! Rather than open a new thread, I thought I'd resurrect this one as a kind of library of Yodel's incompetence. I made a large order with eBuyer, to my despair they're now using Yodel. As soon as I saw the tracking numbers, I knew there'd be some kind of problem and I was right. My order is split in to three packages. For some reason known only to Yodel, one package was picked up by one driver, the other two by another. Mother in law has been waiting in all morning and only one package has turned up so far, now she needs to leave. I've been assured that when the other driver turns up (helpfully the most accurate time they could give me was "before 9pm") if nobody is there, he'll leave his mobile number and I can call him to come back later. We'll see, I've experienced these cow boys before so I really doubt it's going to be that simple. As an aside, I checked out the tracking details and it seems they were delivered to my local depot last night, from where they were shipped overnight to a depot 50 miles away to this morning be picked up by a driver to bring them to me. With delivery plans like that, we can only hope they go bump soon! (or preferably be bought out by someone who has a clue)
