GrumbleDook Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 I remember having a conversation at BETT about LDAP integration and OSS, and the idea behind cloud services making the most of it... yet I cannot remember who with. Nick Dennis (over at Felsted) are looking at *nix integration and Google, so if you have any experience or ideas (or you are the person I spoke with) a few folk would be interesting in having a chat. Any contributions appreciated.
featured_spectre Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 We tried openLDAP on a redhat server by tying in google accounts to ldap accounts. The theory behind it was when a person logs in they had access to their gmail and googledocs and such like on our linux machines. Needless to say it did not work very well.
CyberNerd Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Pretty complicated to setup though? I've read some of the manuals. I don't think the setup is all that complicated (the install is very easy) just getting head around the terminology is the problem

CyberNerd Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 It's pretty easy to register. IIRC a while back they only accepted LA registrations but have relaxed it now, presumably in light of academies. we registered ok.
