denon101 Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I am currently in the process of setting up Win 7 on our domain. I am using RSAT on the Win 7 clients as at the moment we are only on Server 2003 R2. Everything is working fine I have created a central policy store and configured the machine policy and student policies. However when a user logs on for the first time they do not get our Bginfo background displayed. We use local profiles and it is being created in temp folder in profile. It just does not display. When you log on after that it displays fine. I just can't get it to display when first logging on. Any ideas?
TheScarfedOne Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I had the same problem with bginfo on 7, so abandoned it - instead settling on using group policy to set a background
ricki Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 HI Bginfo works here with the user log on but not with the computer background for the logon screen. There are work rounds using scripts but bginfo is not 100% compatible with windows 7 loads of people are asking for it to be updated. Have a look at Can we get a new BGInfo for Windows 7? - Sysinternals Forums - Page 1 Richard
ovann86 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Hi - We have successfully included BGInfo in our Windows 7 domain enviroment. All users have a local profile, logging on using their domain credentials. Here is a detailed step by step process of how I configured and deployed BGInfo: (see attached)AttachedLink.txt This site won't let me post links - so hopefully you get the link !
