Streaming video files through frontend

Hi all,

 

I know that this has been raised several times, but I can't find anything specific for our needs.

 

I want to put all of our educational DVDs/videos onto a media server (legalities already considered and we are covered). These won't be the latest movies etc.

 

I want a web frontend that the teachers and students can access and play media files though. I would also like this to have a search function for keywords example World War 2 etc.

 

I have seen one in the past but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. I have also looked at clipbucket, but can this be setup over the intranet rather than have it hosted on the web, as we don't want the videos access outside of school?
