maveriick Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Good Morning!!! (I guess for most of you it is afternoon... ) We are migrating to Win 7 in our school dist. We use both 32 and 64 Bit version of enterprise. Some situations require installations from Cd's... We use group policy to deploy icons for Students and Teachers. We also wipe desktops in the same policy. In creating icons for deployment the reference the location installed to but since on most software on 32 bit is c:\program files and 64 bit c:\program files (x86)... Any ideas on a way to help our icons point to both or to deploy icons that will work in both architectures? Thanks in advance.
Stuart_C Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Off the to of my head I'd say have a look at the Group Policy Preferances, you can us that to put all sorts of files in all sorts of places. Then use the client targetting to only apply files to specific machines. I'm not at my desk so cant check if you can target by architecture but you can certainly do it by OS so you might be able to...
Stuart_C Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Just looked, Item level targetting, can filter by edition, business or 64bit business.
