glennda Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Does anybody know of any soundcards (PCI/USB) which have an amplified output? Ideally one with outputs for connecting up to speaker wire but if i have to solder jack leads onto them i will. If not anybody got a recommendation on a small cheapish amp? Its going to be hidden in the top of a cuboard to power some external speakers.
K.C.Leblanc Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I don't, but google active speakers and you'll find a selection of speakers with amps. Something like this; Behringer Eurolive B815NEO Powered Speaker £383.82 Ok maybe these might be more suitable. Active Speakers : PC 2.0 Speakers : Maplin
glennda Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 I've already got the speakers! That is the problem! The speakers where in place and the students radio station just ran an xlr lead from there little studio to a socket on the wall inside (what used to be the youth center). But this has now been converted into drama studios and the radio station is being moved over the summer so this is no longer an option! I will look into a small amp i think as it will be easier!
dhicks Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 If not anybody got a recommendation on a small cheapish amp? I use the Lepai LP-200, available on eBay for around £15: Stereo HI-FI Amplifier T AMP For Car/Boat/Motor SILVER | eBay UK Don't forget you'll need to buy a DC adaptor (£5-ish) to go with it. That same eBay seller also does this USB-powered amp: DIY 2 Channel Usb Mini Power Stereo AMP Amplifier RED | eBay UK which looks as though it would be small enough to be screwed to a wall.
