Afternoon,

Slightly weird group policy issue.

I've got one PC in a room of 31 which won't apply group policies.

Essentially I'm trying to rollout Adobe CS5 in the room and every other machine has picked it up fine. I've tried renaming the PC, adding it to a different OU etc but still nothing.

Any suggestions?

persumably as a pc policy so running before startup?

is there a group policy set to make it wait for network connections at startup?

does it have a gb nic connected to a hp 10/00 switch with old firmware (ive found it can just do odd things unless you set the link speed manually or flash the switch)

are other gpo's applyig (run rsop)

is it somehow filtered out (or not filtered in)?

Which operating system and can you give the policy setting you are trying to apply in this thread? There are too many possibilities to guess. Please provide more info to narrow this down so there are not 100 different things for you to check.

I've seen goofy occurrences like this in AD at work. If the machine shows that it is in the correct OU with the correct policies when running gpresult, then take it off of the domain and rejoin.

Log on the machine and run GPResult see if the policy is listed in the applied section. If it is then run GPUpdate /force and go from there. Are there no events relating to any of this?

If that doesn't work then a complete rejoin may be necessary, or just a reimage (sometimes quicker than playing around, although I know we like to play until things are fixed :D)
