Hey,

Trying to have a play with a TC setup at home, and looking for some advice.

Been having a read through Rics guide posted above, but the guide (http://edugeekconference.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=33&Itemid

=59) seems not to work anymore :p Anyone got a mirror of it at all?

Also from the suggestion in the guide it says about using thinstation (:: Thinstation - a light, full-featured Linux thin client OS ::) as a free client, but are there any decentish free server-sides to learn with? Not trying to run anything major, just a few windows connections. (On wireless if possible :p Not sure it'll make much of a difference, but prefer a small client side app, rather than pxe boot for obvious reasons)

Thanks,

Steve

We had more luck with SystemRescueCD - more up-to-date network card drivers. I think all Linux-based "thin-client" distributions use the same (now outdated) version of RDesktop to connect to a Terminal Services server - if you want to latest snazzy video / hardware redirection features you'll need to use a dedicated thin client or a copy of Windows XP or upwards as the thin client.

You get 90 days before you have to pay for your Terminal Services / Remote Desktop Services CALS, so you can just install the role on your server and pay later (or remove before 90 days).
