[android] Backup app and reset

Anyone suggest a good backup app that will allow me to backup apps and settings etc from my HTC Desire to the memory card. The phone has started playing up by intermittently rebooting when using the internet mainly. Two or three reboots later and its back working again. So if I need to reset it or get it exchanged I want my info to be backed up so I can restore it again. Anyone know how to reset it right back to how it was when it was delivered (if thats possible) seen the reset but dont know if thats a full reset of just data.

Titanium Backup is probably one of the best app backup apps, but I don't think it will backup settings - I've just had a quick look and it doesn't look like it does. Tbh, I'm not sure there are any settings backup apps. You can backup text messages using another app appropriately called "SMS Backup & Restore", though I'm not aware of one that will backup your call history, which I recently lost when I finally got round to re-modding my Desire. Hopefully someone else will have some more suggestions.

You have no chance of backing up your apps without rooting though

 

EDIT: although I believe the Android Market automatically keeps a record of which apps you have installed and will perform a re-install if you reset your phone (won't backup app settings though) and there is an option somewhere within the standard settings menu to backup your settings to memory card: couldn't say how reliable it is though. Titanium is still the best option, and rooting can be done almost automatically these days (just google "wiki root [device_name]")
