Windows 7 Sysprep - does it ever work!

Hi

 

I have had problems with sysprep if you have a restore partition on the machine. We got some dell machines and sysprep either killed the machine or it appeared to work but when joined to the domain did not install gpo programs.

 

We have to wipe the machine completely getting rid of all partitions and install from install dvd and it worked.

 

Dont forget to fully patch it there is a microsoft kb download that will allow early versions of sysprep to work its an update but if you have SP1 installed its already on.

Have to do a plus one here for MDT as a minimum, as it handles this for you. I will post up my unattened.xml which does all the setup stuff. MDT handles (well SCCM for me) handles the drive wiping etc as part of the sequencing. PM if you need any help... or take a look at windowsnoob.com
