Strange Server 2003 problem

Our 2003 file/print server just hiccuped

 

basically Taskbar dissapeard and went black and no one could logon . Any one who was logged on basically crashed.

 

I couldnt do nothing apart from restart . I looked at Ram usage and CPU usage ( before reboot) which all seemed fine.

 

Nothing apparent in Event viewer to suggest what happened . My feeling though it could be something to do with BackupExec 2011.

 

Any one else had this problem as of late . To help me rule out a update causing this problem.

Yes had a couple of sessions like that, server running, could ping it but could.not log on or use any printers shared or any shared folders, fortunately thats all it does (well wsus and sophos as well at the moment). Couldnt find anything wrong, only some messages about http and .net but not had chance to investigate further. No warning over stoppage and worked fine once i rebooted.
