MaXiM Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Hi there I'm having a problem with redirecting my start menu on the windows 7 PC's. XP computers work perfectly I have a share with a folder called programs and within there are the shortcuts. But when I log into a windows 7 PC I get all the shortcuts plus another folder called Programs?! If i click any of the shortcuts as a limited user the shortcuts do nothing. But if I then browse into the programs folder I can then see all the shortcuts again but this time they work. It's really annoying and I'm sure I have figured this out in the past but I cannot seem to understand whats going on this time.
ChrisMiles Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Normally you would have a folder called Programs within the folder where the Start Menu is redirected which contains your shortcuts.
MaXiM Posted May 17, 2011 Author Posted May 17, 2011 Yes thats what I have at the moment. It's probably something to do with the users roaming profiles.
MaXiM Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 Ok well I figured it out. Just removed the users local profile and re-created their roaming one also. Works after that. I knew I was doing it correctly....what a strange problem that is.. hmm
