its_sam Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Trying to fix laptop for a mate. Each time I close Internet Explorer I get a message saying: "Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have tried all sorts to try and prevent this but I'm left completely stumped. So far I have tried resetting Internet Explorer, running with no add-ons, disabling all non Microsoft startup items, etc The laptop OS is Windows 7 and it's running IE8. Thanks in advance!
MaXiM Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 back up users app data folder to a usb or something and then try removing the app data folder or the folder within app data that specifies internet explorer settings
SYNACK Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 Try installing IE9, that might solve the application crash issue and its faster anyhow.
MaXiM Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 It's normally the app data that is causing this. but yes you could try installing IE9 (If you have vista /win 7)
