techyphil Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 The other techy at school goes on the Sims courses all the while and came back saying that IE 7 will not work and cause sims to not work. How can this be? heh i assume its just a few tweeks here n there they arent working as expected... also the sims guys told us that it wont work with Vista for another 5 years?! I find this extremely hard to beleive as the next MS OS will be around the corner by then. What have you guys heard?

I know alot of people hate MS OS's but its all good fun in my eyes and they can only improve on what they have got. Ive been using vista for a while now, only techy in the school with it. Teachers all like the idea of Vista and the new Sharepoint Portal ideas. It solves alot of problems and god its sweet on the eyes. Makes my work productivity nicer and faster.

Its just finding the time to research these massive projects. At the min i've had to install a couple of Virtual Machines running Server 2003. Havent got round to actually settings the basics up yet heh. Yeh, please do get back and i will let you know also. I've been watching alot of the itidiots videos on sharepoint. Altho some can be painfully slow to watch. :? Cheers

GrumbleDook Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 @Jake From what I remember from chats with a few people it is the export and import of spreadsheets from Assessment Manasger and Exams Organiser does not work with Office 2007 at the moment (even specifying office 97-2003 format as the default is shakey), the running of reports within SIMS.net (again, mainly an office thing) and the creation of certain templates (Assessment Manager, Exams Organiser). Lesson Monitor is meant to throw up some problems too but when speaking with schools locally that have it and have tried it on Vista there have been no problems. The way I look at it ... if Capita say 'don't use ... we may have some issues' then I won't use it on Vista. Err on the side of caution.
