How much memory is Firefox using for you today?

Just noticed that my machine was running a little slower than usual so I went off to investigate what was using up all the resources... I think that Fireox may be the culprit.

 

Firefox can be resource hungry but I've only got 9 tabs open today and no Flash going on!

Also watch out for buggy addons. If you have one loaded that's leaking memory. It's likely that's the problem. Try running Firefox in Safe mode and see if the problem disappears.

@Geoff: It's not enough of a leak to be a problem... I still have 40MB of physical memory free!!! Leaving Firefox running for weeks on end probably doesn't help matters.

Oh well that's why. It will eat all your free memory if it can. It's probably cached every page you've visited for the last 4 weeks in ram.

Firefox will keep all the pages you have opened in every tab in memory so that you have faster back/forward navigation.

 

At last count colleague had firefox using 1.6Gb of RAM.
