WithoutMotive Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Hi guys, We use SIMS Messaging quite a lot but it's particularly frustrating when people send a message to all users when it's intended for, say, just form tutors or Heads of Year, etc. Is there any way of customising the message groups that you can search? Where is this list populated from and is it 'editable'? Ta!
fiza Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 I thought some of it came from Pastoral Structure (ie form tutors and heads of year) and for the rest it was if they had a tick for Teaching staff or not for Non Teaching staff in their SIMS Records. When you create a message is there not a drop down box for "Role" so senders can select to send only to Heads of Year? Ours does.
WithoutMotive Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 There is but, for some reason, there's about 10 Heads Of Year and other such roles which are completely wrong. I've checked in System Manager and some people aren't even in the Role that SIMS Messaging says they're in.
fiza Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Have you checked in your Pastoral Structure to see if the Correct Heads of House are listed there? and also form tutors?
WithoutMotive Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 OK, I've been a bit of an idiot. Checked the Pastoral Structure and the "All Heads Of Year" counts the actual HOYs and the supervisors, too. So, now I've found out how the current ones work, is there any way we can create customisable groups of users to send messages, too?
fiza Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Not that I have seen but If you figure out a way please let me know
