speaker issue on laptop

Brought a new usb speaker today but when i plugged it in i had all this analog sound coming out of the speaker interfering with the music i was playing, the speaker works fine on my sister's laptop.

 

Also my other speakers (which aren't usb) work fine on the laptop.

 

so could the problem be with my usb ports or my soundcard

 

If anyone could help me out would be very grateful

It's certainly not the laptop soundcard. It could be the USB ports, especially since the speakers seem to work fine on another computer. Is your laptop quite old? If it only has older USB 1.1 and not the newer USB 2.0, that might make a difference.

Hi it's very new,less then 2 years old, think the usb is 2.0 but will make out for sure if it is
