oalcock Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Every 15 minutes, our HP 3600 ColorLaser keeps printing out in small the following; PCL XL error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: IllegalAttributeValue Operator: SetPageOrigin Position: 4 Anybody any clues as to how to sort this out? Cheers
Steve21 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Things you could try (As it's normally driver issue). 1) Reuse default drivers (windows ones) 2) Try turning off, High speed and advanced functions printer wise (If it's only with certain programs printing, aka the SetPageOrigin part) 3) Could try resetting the program print defaults etc Any idea if someone started printing somethign and then this started? If so, guess it's file wise. Steve 1
SYNACK Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Option two which almost always fixes it, use the PS driver instead. Slightly larger print job file sizes but generally better print quality and better compatibility if you have a printer being a bit thick with PCL. It also pays to use PS if you are going through any linux system, printer server etc other than a propper jetdirect card as these from bitter experience can easilly mess up the PCL stream if badly implemented.
