Admiral208 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Hi all, I have just added my new(ish) windows 7 machine to the network and domain. I have a bit of a problem in that all the icons on the desktop are acting like hyperlinks, i.e they are all opening on a single click, and its the same in explorer. All the folders are opening on a single click. its not too much of a problem but it annoys the hell out of me. My boss (who has just left to another job) set up the machine before me to test W7 and im not sure if this happens to all windows 7 machines when added to a domain or if its just our domain and its a setting she enabled. There is one other W7 machine and it too has the same issue. Any Ideas?? James
Steve21 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Try: Folder Options -> General -> Click items -> (Change single to double) Steve
Admiral208 Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Should probably have mentioned that I have tried that already. Strangley the option to select double click is already selected and the single click is greyed out.folder options.bmp
cpjitservices Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 how bizarre - unless you have to have the windows classic theme for it to be selected.
Steve21 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Strangley the option to select double click is already selected and the single click is greyed out. Sounds like Classic Shell is locked on in GPOs then. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer Check for Classic shell = 1 Steve
