I am getting ready to upgrade our moodle installation to the latest version of 1.9.x and thought it might be a good time to integrate a newer version of tinyMCE.

While looking on how to include newer version of tinyMCE I came across The Collaborative Liberal Arts Moodle Project (CLAMP-IT) . It includes tinyMCE 3.7 and other bug fixes/extras.

Going to try this after Easter, so will report back on how well it works I have tested it further.

I notice that they have produced this version as many of the organisations involved believe that moodle 2.x is still not ready for productions systems. We have code that integrates to our MIS system that would not work with version 2.x and some of our modules would also not work. So we are not ready to switch to version 2.x just yet.

Anyone using this already?

@monkeyx:

We have built a test version as a VM Moodle version 2.0.2 and will be letting a teacher loose over the Easter break to see if he can replicate what we do at the school, we have no Sims integration as we thought version 2 would have this functionality already built in as was mentioned in the priorities on Moodle site.

Will let you know if we aim to move to the new version after Easter. :D
